FurnitureFurbie was born out of a passion for furniture restorations, refurbishment & upholstery. It is extremely rewarding to transform beautiful furniture items into masterpieces!

Jose believes he is an artist and not an upholsterer, take one look at his reupholstery work and this is true!  The Art of Upholstery by Jose is like a form of poetry, He is an artist with a meticulous eye for detail and a passion that shines through every job he does. Jose takes great fun in reupholstering, recovering & transforming your beautiful furniture including; recovering a lounge, revitalising a sofa, reconditioning an armchair, rejuvenating a dining chair, renovating an antique chair or any reupholstering of furniture.

The upholstery process involves the material selection, that can be leather, fabric or vinyl. We will be more than happy to help you choose a perfect upholstery material for your space.

Jose has been an upholsterer for over 35 years and has a unique and diverse set of skills that has transformed him into the highly trained and diverse ‘artist’ he is today.

Jose first started to work as an upholsterer in 1986 with a good friend in Paddington which sparked his love of the trade. He picked it up very quickly and became very passionate about transforming all sorts of upholstered furniture into masterpieces. Jose started his own company in 1994 making pool and garden furniture from PVC pipe, an invention of his own making! He sold this business and is now the reason why FurnitureFurbie is thriving today.
